Al-Burooj
سُورَةُ البُرُوجِ - The Constellations
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلْبُرُوجِ
Interpretation:
By the sky containing great stars
وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْمَوْعُودِ
Interpretation:
And [by] the promised Day
وَشَاهِدٍۢ وَمَشْهُودٍۢ
Interpretation:
And [by] the witness and what is witnessed,
قُتِلَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْأُخْدُودِ
Interpretation:
Cursed were the companions of the trench
ٱلنَّارِ ذَاتِ ٱلْوَقُودِ
Interpretation:
[Containing] the fire full of fuel,
إِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُودٌۭ
Interpretation:
When they were sitting near it
وَهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفْعَلُونَ بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ شُهُودٌۭ
Interpretation:
And they, to what they were doing against the believers, were witnesses.
وَمَا نَقَمُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَمِيدِ
Interpretation:
And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy,
ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ شَهِيدٌ
Interpretation:
To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, over all things, is Witness.
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَتَنُوا۟ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوبُوا۟ فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ ٱلْحَرِيقِ
Interpretation:
Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire.
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّٰتٌۭ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْكَبِيرُ
Interpretation:
Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great attainment.
إِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ
Interpretation:
Indeed, the vengeance of your Lord is severe.
إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ يُبْدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ
Interpretation:
Indeed, it is He who originates [creation] and repeats.
وَهُوَ ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلْوَدُودُ
Interpretation:
And He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate,
ذُو ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْمَجِيدُ
Interpretation:
Honorable Owner of the Throne,
فَعَّالٌۭ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ
Interpretation:
Effecter of what He intends.
هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلْجُنُودِ
Interpretation:
Has there reached you the story of the soldiers -
فِرْعَوْنَ وَثَمُودَ
Interpretation:
[Those of] Pharaoh and Thamud?
بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فِى تَكْذِيبٍۢ
Interpretation:
But they who disbelieve are in [persistent] denial,
وَٱللَّهُ مِن وَرَآئِهِم مُّحِيطٌۢ
Interpretation:
While Allah encompasses them from behind.
بَلْ هُوَ قُرْءَانٌۭ مَّجِيدٌۭ
Interpretation:
But this is an honored Qur'an
فِى لَوْحٍۢ مَّحْفُوظٍۭ
Interpretation:
[Inscribed] in a Preserved Slate.
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلْبُرُوجِ 1 وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْمَوْعُودِ 2 وَشَاهِدٍۢ وَمَشْهُودٍۢ 3 قُتِلَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْأُخْدُودِ 4 ٱلنَّارِ ذَاتِ ٱلْوَقُودِ 5 إِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُودٌۭ 6 وَهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفْعَلُونَ بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ شُهُودٌۭ 7 وَمَا نَقَمُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَمِيدِ 8 ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ شَهِيدٌ 9 إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَتَنُوا۟ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوبُوا۟ فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ ٱلْحَرِيقِ 10 إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّٰتٌۭ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْكَبِيرُ 11 إِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ 12 إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ يُبْدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ 13 وَهُوَ ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلْوَدُودُ 14 ذُو ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْمَجِيدُ 15 فَعَّالٌۭ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ 16 هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلْجُنُودِ 17 فِرْعَوْنَ وَثَمُودَ 18 بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فِى تَكْذِيبٍۢ 19 وَٱللَّهُ مِن وَرَآئِهِم مُّحِيطٌۢ 20 بَلْ هُوَ قُرْءَانٌۭ مَّجِيدٌۭ 21 فِى لَوْحٍۢ مَّحْفُوظٍۭ 22
